
News went viral on Saturday February first that ‘Ogologoma’ hitmaker, Rema has died with no further details about what caused his shocking death.
The news gained much currency when it appeared on a credible website like Wikipedia, a free online encyclopedia, created and edited by volunteers around the world and hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation.
Here’s how the website reported it:
“Rema (musician) Divine Ikubor (born May 1, 2000), and died on February 1, 2020 at 12:29 a.m known best known as Rema, is a Nigerian singer and rapper. In 2019, he signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records.“
However, Rema’s manager, Mr Sean said some hackers had access to the page and edited his bio to that effect.

“Rema is hale and healthy!” Those were the words of the manager of Mavin records musician, Rema. The manager whose name is Sean, was responding to questions via WhatsApp chat with this reporter. “Death is not something one can hide! Some hackers got access to his official account and spread the rumour. He is hale and healthy, he is fine. We don’t want to blow this out of proportion” he said.
Around midday on Saturday, the Internet became agog with news that Rema was dead. However, some hours later, stories started making rounds that Rema had resurrected from the dead; adding another twist to the story
